In Loving memory of Lois Einarson

Lois Einarson, “Loa” entered the lord’s kingdom, after losing her battle to cancer at the age of 64 years on August 27, 2016, at Minnedosa Hospital with family by her side.

Lois was born in Swan River, Manitoba on May 11, 1952 to Casper George “Bud” and Inga Einarson.  She was raised on the farm west of Swan River and received her education at Crestview school district. Later she decided to spread her wings and explore the world as a musician.  She later met and married her first husband Robert “Bob” Brooks and was blessed with two children, Melody and Wayne.  During those years, Lois had to learn to live a completely different life of military living, which included moving and leaving friends on a regular basis.  However, she was still able to pursue her love of music by performing at outdoor festivals and nightclubs.  Lois was not only a drummer, but she was also a songwriter and poet. She was most proud of the award she had won by the American song Association for her original lyrics that she had composed. The lyrics were judged by some of the most reputable musicians we still hear of today.

Throughout Lois’s life, she also enjoyed extracurricular activities such as playing soccer and baseball and riding horses when she was young and making ceramics, restoring old furniture, playing bingo and bowling throughout adulthood

Later in life, Lois had moved on to a new chapter and resided in Rivers, MB. In the late 90’s, Lois moved back to the farm to care for her mother and help on the farm, until her mom’s passing in 2000.  It was during this time that Lois met Earl and they had spent the next 19 years together.  They moved and bought a house in Winnipegosis to build a life together.  They landscaped and did minor changes in the home to make it their sanctuary.  Lois started taking on more of a green thumb and grew vegetable gardens and many flower beds.  Lois worked as a jail guard part-time at the RCMP detachment and also took on part-time custodian jobs at the school and the post office.  She loved to dance and together Earl and her danced very well.  She always said that it was like they would float on the dance floor in unison.  Their home was a place to have family come to visit and share stories.  She loved to laugh and hear about all the stories people had to tell.

Lois is survived by her father, “Bud” of Langley BC; brother, John of Watson Lake, common-law partner Earl Chartrand of Winnipegosis; daughter Melody (Rick) of Rapid City, her son Wayne of Edmonton; Previous spouse Robert of Brandon; grandchildren, Gage (Stephanie) of Ste. Rose, Darcy and Dion of Brandon, her great-grandchildren Jase and Kaydee; Her many nieces, nephews, cousins, including her closest friends, and supports and extended family members that were like her adopted siblings that seem to grow in numbers throughout the years at Ma’s farm. Also left to mourn is her second family of in-laws, stepchildren and grandchildren; they all had a special place in her heart and became her own family; Also her pet dog Stripe, who was so dear to her.

Lois was predeceased by her mother Inga, Aunties Dia and Sarah.
