My dear friend Rita..........I miss you so much ! So many times I wish to call you for your advice on things you've gone through that I am now going through . Or just to call you for a good "chin wag" as you used to say . And always our conversations would involve lots of laughter .Would love to sit by the fire again....have Metis fire works.............sit on your dock and watch the northern lights....have a bowl of your amazing soup .I can still see you standing on the steps waving a welcome when I came for a visit......then walking into your home to the wonderful aroma of cooking supper . Thank you for all those wonderful memories ! And we had our serious discussions ......wondering when and how we'd leave this earth....my friend , you left the way you wanted to.....in your bed , in your home, without alot of suffering...And that afternoon a loon with a very loud voice flew over Keiron and Deb's home..........You loved the loons and each spring you'd wait for them to arrive . Thank you for your friendship...It's an honor to call you my dear friend .

Dear Kieran and Debora, I have thought of you both so often over the years! I am saddened to hear of your mom's passing Kieran. You and your family are very much in my thoughts and prayers. I do remember as a young girl when your mom was President of the MWA. Her leadership provided an important catalyst for so many First Nations/Metis women, including my dear mother, (the late) Mrs Olive Chartrand and for me also. As a young women I remember attending my first MWA workshop in Dauphin MB, and this is a cherished memory as I had the opportunity to learn from strong and accomplished Metis women leadership, to name just a few, your mother, as well as Rita Guiboche, Grace Menard and my mom. Please drop me a line if you like, it would be so awesome to connect with you. Megwetch, All My Relations Shirl Chartrand
