Dan Burghart

Dan Burghart of Swan River, Manitoba, passed away in Swan River on April 8th, 2016 at the age of 70 years.

Dan was born in Bowsman, Manitoba on May 1st, 1945 to Lester William and Ida May Burghart. He received his education at the Wild Rose Country School.

Dan married Carol Sigurdson.

Dan and his family had a small hobby farm in Bowsman, where they raised a few steers, hens, pigs and had a wonderful vegetable garden as well as beautiful Saskatoon’s and lovely scenic views of the trees in the yard. Dan enjoyed trapping, skinning beavers and old tractors. When he was growing up, he had a pet pony that was named cocoa.

Dan is survived by his wife Carol; sons Daniel, Henry and Allan; daughter Hazel Anne; brothers John, Joe, Ed and Thomas; sisters Jean and by one grandchild Jenny.

Dan was predeceased by: his mother, Ida, father, Lester; sisters Irene, Phoebe, Brownie and Marianne and by his brother Bertram “Colonel.”

Evening visitations were held on April 13th, 2016 at 6:00 PM from the Chapel of Paull Funeral Home, Swan River, MB.

A Funeral service was held on April 14th, 2016 at 2:00 PM from the Trinity Lutheran Church, Swan River, MB with Pastor Bob Lewis officiating.

Dan was laid to rest in the Bowsman Cemetery following the funeral service.
