Stanley Foster Obituary

On September 17, 2020, Stanley Frederick Foster of Benito, MB passed away at the age of 70 years in the Swan River Hospital.

Stan was born on March 5, 1950 to Fred and Gladys Foster in Benito Hospital. Stan lived with his family on a farm near Benito.  From 1968 to 1970, Stan went left home and went north to work in Lynn Lake, Gillam and later Fort St. John.  In 1972 Stan started his own company, Foster Construction.  This company did road construction, land clearing and log hauling. He met his wife on one of his builds near White Beech and in April of 1979 married Sharon Deyneka.

Foster Construction was rolled into Stan’s Road Building in 1982, where he focused on road construction.  In 1985 he started to phase out of road construction and into beef cattle by purchasing a herd of 42 shorthorn cross cows.  Stan continued to farm, building a herd of 300, until his passing.  Stan loved working in his cat, from leveling ground, pushing manure, or scrubbing bush. His biggest passion was riding his horse on trail rides.   He was a very social person, so he could combine his love for horses and visiting his friends. He loved taking his children and grandchildren for sleighrides at Christmas. He looked forward to the team penning season and herding cattle home in the fall, good places for meeting new people and visiting friends.

Stan is survived by his wife Sharron; daughter Carmilla (Michael) Hrabarchuk and children Kreece, Trey and Kaisley; son Delwin (Leslie) Foster and children Ellesha Millier, Tyler Parks, Sarah; daughter Erin (TJ) Schullman; sister, Lorna (Ed Marnovich) Foster and brother, Glen (Brenda) Foster.

Stan was predeceased by his mother Gladys (August of 1981); his infant daughter Penny (June of 1982); and his father (April of 1995).

In keeping with Stanley's wishes, burial will take place at Durban Cemetery.
