​It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Ronald Stanley Boyko, a beloved husband, father, Geda, and friend, who passed away peacefully at his home on June 12, 2026.
​Ron was born on June 24, 1950, in Canora, Saskatchewan, to Alice and Jack Boyko. As a young child, his family lived in Flin Flon before relocating to Winnipeg when he was just three years old. From a young age, Ron demonstrated the strong work ethic that would define his life, delivering copies of the Winnipeg Free Press as a boy and working in local restaurants. At the proud age of 17, he answered the call to serve his country and joined the Navy.
​The course of Ron’s life changed beautifully the summer after high school when he met the love of his life, Elizabeth Goyek. The two were wed on June 1, 1974, embarking on a journey of marriage and partnership that spanned over five decades.
​In 1975, Ron joined Local 254, dedicating himself to a long and respected career as a pipefitter and plumber. For over 40 years, his skill and dedication were well known within the trade until his well-earned retirement in 2018.
​Ron and Elizabeth began their family in Winnipeg, where they welcomed their first two children. They later moved to Bowsman, where their family grew to include two more children. On August 19, 2001, they moved to their beautiful acreage, where they happily resided together until his passing.
​While Ron took pride in his work, his greatest joy was his family, especially his ten grandchildren. "Geda" was never happier than when the kids came to visit the acreage. He was famous for giving tractor rides, whether pulling them along on the big Case tractor or taking them for spins on the lawn tractor, creating memories that his family will cherish forever. In his later years, Ron found immense comfort and companionship in his animals. He could often be found working on a Sudoku puzzle with his big orange cat, Corker, sitting right on the table beside him, or watching a hockey game on the couch with his faithful dog, Sheeba, by his side.
​Ron was a great husband, an incredible father, and a deeply loved Geda. His steady presence, his quiet kindness, and his dedication to those he loved will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
​Ron is survived by his loving wife, Elizabeth; his children, Angela, Ronald (April), Jonathon (Lisa), and Bradley; and his ten cherished grandchildren: Breanna, Kaiden, Ryder, Ethan, Lucas, Kristopher, Lyndz, Khloe, Jacob, and Abel. He is also survived by his siblings, and numerous nieces and nephews.
​He was predeceased by his parents, Alice and Jack Boyko; infant brother Ernie Boyko and his brother, Gerald Boyko; and his father-in-law, Mike Goyek.
