Michael Yaremchuk was born on October 17th 1930 to Tom and Sophia Yaremchuk near Venn, Saskatchewan. He passed away peacefully on February 29th, 2020 in Swan River, Manitoba.
Michael’s received his education in Saskatchewan and then in 1950 he moved to Manitoba and began teaching in Minitonas and Renwer Districts. After that he moved to Winnipeg and became the principal at St James Assiniboia School, and later he became the superintendent at St. James Assiniboia School District until his retirement.
During his life, Michael’s interests included hunting, and fishing. He was a bit of an outdoorsman.
Michael is survived by his sisters Elsie Mychalchuk, Nellie Bartko and Marilyn Holinaty.
Michael was predeceased by; his parents Tom and Sophia; brothers Lucas, Walter and Sam; sister Ann and brother-in-law Lenard.
Funeral service was held on March 6th, 2020 at 10:00 AM from the Holy Ukrainian Orthodox Church, Swan River, Manitoba with Father Petro Tsenov officiating.
Active pallbearers were Dean Yaremchuk, Dwayne Holinaty, Marvin Bartko, Larry Mychalchuk, Michael Mychalchuk and Lorry Nichiporuk.
Following the service, Michael was laid to rest in the Birchwood Cemetery, Swan River, Manitoba.
