Marlene Orosz

Marlene Orosz, aged 70 years, of Swan River, Manitoba, passed away suddenly on Thursday March 30, 2023 at her residence near Keville, MB.

Marlene was born on August 8, 1952 to Finnbogi and Emma Kardal of Gimli, Manitoba.

She is survived by her loving, dear friend, Buffy Desmarais; her beloved children, Connie Dueck (Nathan), Cory Schroeder (Kirsty), Colin Schroeder, Carla Peters (Clint), Robert Wiebe & Rachel Wiebe. She will also be remembered by her siblings, Valerie, George, and Rhonda.

Marlene’s grandchildren, who she loved dearly are: Mikayla, Jeremy, Faith, Samantha, Callum, Preston, Kiana (Tyson), Alexa, Kailey, Brooklyn, Sophia, Noah, and Kendal.

She was predeceased by her parents Finnbogi and Emma Kardal along with her siblings, Robert, Arthur, Donald, Barbara, and Margaret.

Although Marlene was born in Gimli, she also lived in Winnipeg, Riverton and Steinbach, and eventually moved to Swan River and surrounding communities where she spent most of her years. She sought out meaningful friendships in each community and made a large positive impact wherever she settled. She was a dear friend to so many with her kind heart and her encouraging visits. She had such a positive outlook on life and shared it with others through many chats with friends. She had a love for singing and country gospel music. In her younger years she sang alto in the church choir which is where her passion for singing and music was ignited. Later on in her life, she enjoyed many singing sessions with her friends, If she wasn’t singing, she was tapping her hand to her bouncing knee and enjoying the music. She had a beautiful voice. Marlene loved her Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ all through her life. Her Journey wasn’t always easy but she never gave up hope. It gives us great comfort knowing that she entered heavens gates with Jesus by her side reuniting with her loved ones. She will be greatly missed by us all.
