Billy Campbell Obituary

With deep sadness and a multitude of gratitude for his life the family of Malcolm “Billy” Stewart Campbell of Swan River, Manitoba announces his passing on Friday February 26th, 2021. Billy was born to the late Alford and Evelyn Campbell in Swan River on December 14th, 1935. He was born and raised in the valley and lived here for all of his wonderful life.

Billy was a farmer mostly but he dabbled in a few other areas that included truck driving and CAT operating. He liked nature and enjoyed fishing and hunting. Billie loved his work with registered cattle and looked forward to being a part of chuck wagon racing. He had an eye for antiques and collected many treasures over the years.

Billy married his wife of 62 years, Mary in the Swan River Anglican Church in 1958. Together they raised two children Sandra Dee and Stewart on the family farm. Over the years the farm became the drop-in place before the North West Round Up. Cowboys, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren would sit around sharing stories and laughs before it was time to head to the grandstand.

Billy took great pride in building up the family farm with Mary so their family could continue to share memories for many more years to come. He loved to spend his time chewing the fat with his coffee buddies at A&W.

Billy will be missed dearly by: his wife Mary (nee Frank) Campbell;daughter Sandra Dee Radosevic; son Stewart Campbell; grandchildren Chantel (Ryan) Cheyne, Vanessa Radosevic and Mickelle (Erika) Radosevic; great-grandchildren Lydia Radosevic, Lyona Pierrpont, Jude Cheyne, Brynja Radosevic and Aria Cheyne as well as  numerous other relatives and friends.

Billy was predeceased by: brothers Harry and Robert Campbell; sisters Maida Campbell, Margaret Potten, Betty Edwards and Bernice Kletke.

Billy will be laid to rest at the Heritage Memorial Gardens Cemetery, Swan River, Manitoba. At this time, with provincial restrictions on public group sizes, we ask that relatives and friends contact the family for specific times and funeral service details.
