Sylvia, our mother, loved to play bingo up until the time of her illness; she cooked good meals for her family, her kitchen was always open. She baked her daily bannock who everybody loved and enjoyed. She also loved to go and watch square dancing or community dry dances. She loved to chat with her friend, Christian Kematch on the phone. Judges 13:3 – Our mother lived a sober life throughout. She loved and raised her children, watched her grandchildren being born and growing. She was always home on her favourite couch and ready to receive whoever walked in the door.

Mom accepted Jesus into her heart in 2016. She has been redeemed by the saving grace of our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ.

Our mom will be sadly and dearly missed, and “Mom” was the word.    Forever in our hearts, Mom Love you from all your children and grandchildren.

Sylvia is survived by her husband William John Cook; sister Ann (Campeau) Sanderson; by her children Priscilla (George) Brass, Barbara Cook, Zelda (David) Gott, Doris (Abel) Cook, Michael Cook, George Cook, Margaret (Cornelius) Cook, Joseph William Cook, Elizabeth (Sheldon) Cook and Sabrina (Christopher) Cook; as well as 39 grandchildren, 35 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren and by her special friend Christian Kematch from Wuski Siphik Manitoba; brother-in-law Sydney (Shirley) Cook, Irvin Cook, and Duncan Copapay; sister-in-law Cecilia Quill, Emma Jane (Nicholson) Cook and Theresa (Tom) Catcheway and by many nieces and nephews too numerous to mention.

Sylvia was predeceased by her parents David and Flora (Gott) Campeau; sisters Miriam (Sternie) Kematch and Lydia (Tony) Genaille; by all her brothers Alfred Campeau, Edward Campeau, John (Betsy) Campeau, Joe (Bella) Campeau, William (Flora) Campeau, Clemmie (Alice)Campeau and Clarence (Frances) Campeau; father-in-law Samuel (Copapay) Cook; mother-in-law Gertie Cook and Mary Catt from Easterville, Manitoba; brother-in-law Joseph Fred Cook; sister-in-law Sarah Jane Cook; daughter Rosemarie Cook, sons Douglas, Ephrem, Wilmur and two baby boys; grandchildren Jeremiah Bourassa and Preston Ross; great-grandchildren Deanna Munro and Dylan Munro; daughter-in-law Elsie Daniels from Easterville and her son-in-law James Bourassa.

We would like to thank SCN Chief and Council, Health Authority, VLT, family and friends and all the Praying Warriors of Sapotaweyak Cree Nation. Also to the Swan Valley Lodge, where she remained for the last nine years. Special Thanks to our niece Coral Cook for all her love and support for her Kookum.

Thanks, from all the family.
