It is with great sadness and gratitude for his life that the family of Robert David Forman announces his passing on December 21st, 2017 at the age of 57 years.

Robert was born in Benito on September 7th, 1960 to Leonard and Anne Forman. He went on to receive his education at the Arran School, where he graduated from in 1978.

Robert married Brenda Lynn Hickman of Swan River on December 18th, 1999 in Durban, Manitoba and it was quite the snowstorm that weekend.

He loved to drive and he loved the places it took him. He drove around for work and play. He loved to go for coffee and visiting with people. He would go out for coffee around 3 or 4 o clock in the afternoon and not get back until after 7 sometimes. “Well we got visiting” is what he would say. Roberts connection to people was thick and strong. He liked to watch TV – especially the food network as well as the history and discovery channels. He would do work search puzzles while he waited for someone to phone. He talked on the phone A LOT! When the phone would ring his family would say “It’s for you” It’s Leonard of Doug or Tim or Jay or whoever it was that called. Robert enjoyed photography. He took so many pictures and Brenda and the kids couldn’t wait for the pictures to be developed to see what he came across in his travels.

Brenda didn’t know Robert for the first 31 years of his life so it isn’t possible piece together all of the work he had done in his life but in their travels together he would say, “I helped build this road” or “I poured cement for those bins or that basement.” He was a truck driver for many people – so many people too numerous to mention them all but if he drove for you then you know who you are. Over the years he hauled gravel, cement, logs, construction equipment, wood chips, hay, grain and cow shhh…poop! He was part of construction crews; building roads, highways, airport runways, driveways and he poured cement for basements and bin pads.

Robert knew so many people and so many people knew him. The biggest and most precious accomplishment in Robert’s life was his family. One day, Brenda was in town and someone introduced her as Robert’s wife. Well the man was shocked, and he kept saying “Robert got married?!” He just couldn’t believe it. Other people were shocked to find out that Robert and Brenda had 5 kids. His family is something that no one expected would happen for Robert. He went from driving his blue half-ton truck to driving his brown suburban. You would not have expected that the social butterfly that he was would want a little something for himself – a loving wife and 5 great kids.

If there was something going on – a party, a dance, someone’s birthday – Robert would be there, and he always had something under the seat to share. Just this past summer he went out to his dad’s car that he used to drive and found a full unopened bottle under the seat.

Robert will be missed – by everyone who experienced the gift of knowing him. He was a people person which really means that he focused on the important aspects of life. Living happily in the company of others and putting all that he had into raising his family.

Robert is survived by his wife Brenda of 26 years (18 years married); daughters Candace, Colleen, Emily and Erin; son David; dog Duke; sister Susan (Sandy), nephew Danny and niece Megan; father-in-law Robert Hickman, brothers-in-law Delbert (Ella) and David (Tracy); sister-in-law Heather (Scott) and their families; uncle  Eugene; auntie Candy Bobyk as well as many cousins, friends and their families.

Robert was predeceased by his father Leonard (1997); mother Anne (2004); brother Randy (1980) and by his mother-in-law Margaret in 2002.

Should friends so desire, memorial donations in Robert's honour

may be made at the Benito Credit Union,

where a trust fund has been set up for his children.
