Mary Wilson Obituary

Mary Frances Wilson April 13, 1924 – April 5, 2019 We sadly announce the passing of Mary Frances Wilson on April 5, 2019 at The Lodge in Swan River, MB just 8 days short of her 95th birthday.

Mary was the fourth of ten children born to John and Elizabeth Clark in the Mountain Crest District (9-34-27 RM of Swan River). The Clark family later moved to their farm in Pretty Valley.

Mary and John Everette Wilson (Jack) of Ruby were married on August 17, 1944. After Jack’s discharge from the RCAF, Jack and Mary moved to their newly purchased property at NW 11-34-28 in Ruby. They moved to Swan River in 1997 and when Mary’s health declined she entered The Lodge in 2015.

Mary’s priority was as a wife, mother and homemaker. She helped with farm duties as required. Summers at the farm were active with often frequent and lengthy visiting nieces and nephews. Jack and Mary were avid square dancers for many years. She was a dedicated member of St. James Anglican Church and ACW.

Mary is survived by daughters Jean Early and Laura Thiele; grandchildren Warren Early, Kevin Early, Jacqueline Thiele, Kelly Thiele, Jeff Thiele, Heather Kehler and Crystal Streamer; 10 great grandchildren Kelsey Early, Kendra Collins, Bryce Early, Kyle Early, Ryann Dankewich, Adrianna Dankewich, Gaia Thiele, Owen Kehler, Hudson Kehler, Nicholas Holness, and great great grandchild Claire Collins. Mary is also survived by her sister Phyllis Webster.

Mary was predeceased by her husband Jack and daughter Dorothy Streamer in 2000, brothers Jack, Alex, Jim, Dick, Alf and sisters Nora Muir, Margaret McKay, and Alice Hogg.

The family is grateful to the friends who visited during her days at The Lodge and to the staff at The Lodge for their care and compassion. For those who so desire, donations can be made to St. James Anglican Church, Box 729, Swan River MB or a charity of your choice.

Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held at a later date. Internment at Birchwood Cemetery.
