Kazimer Daniel Kondra of SW 16-37-27 W, passed away in the Swan River Valley Health Centre on October 20th, 2017 at the age of 99 years.

Kazimer was born in Mikado, Saskatchewan on February 11th, 1918 to Oleksa and Evdokia Kondra. He received his education in Mazzepa; high school at Yorkton Collegiate; and one year at Winnipeg School of the Art.

Kazimer married Anastasia Kobelka of Burgis, Saskatchewan in 1941 in Canora, Saskatchewan.

During his life Kazimer did numerous trades; from 1942-1948 he owned a hatchery in Canora. He then continued with is career as a farmer from 1948-1958 in Burgis. During the years of 1958-1962 as a motel owner in Swan River. He then took on the trade as a carpenter in Bowsman (Woody River) 1962-1967, in Bowsman from 1967-1973 and then in Creston, B.C. during 1973-1980. Upon returning to the valley to the present acreage in Bowsman in 1980.

Kazimer hobbies’ included oil painting, hunting, fishing and as well as woodworking.

Kazimer is survived by his two sons Ronald Kondra of Bowsman and Michael Kondra of White Rock, B.C.; three grandchildren Kevin Kondra, Laura Kondra and Carolyn Cannizzo; and by his six great-grandchildren Owen, Halyna, Simon and Norah Kondra, Madison Cannizzo and Laura Foster and sister-in-law Rose Kondra.

Kazimer was predeceased by his wife Nellie; parents Oleksa and Evdokia (Dyda) pioneer farmers in Mazeppa SK; sister Anne (Saffron) Derkach of Canora SK; brothers Mike (Jenny) of Kamsack, SK and Peter Kondra of Winnipeg; sister Mary (John) Matieshin of Grandview, MB, Julia (Dmytro) Tymrick of Canora, SK, Margaret (Sam) Kravinchuk of Edmonton, Stella (Paul) Shushkevich of Winnipeg, Helen (Mike) Koshelka of Grandview, MB and Antonia Kopelchuk (Peter) of Donwell, SK.
