Barbara Sutherland

In loving memory of Barbara Anne Sutherland.

March 4th, 1948 to May 20th, 2018

Barbara was predeceased by her parents Peter-John and Theresa Beardy; sisters Caroline, Linda (Joseph), Elaine (Robert), Rita (Steve), Beatrice and Juliet; brothers William, Francis and Calvin.

Barbara really enjoyed playing cards with her friends. Back in Barbara’s days she enjoyed playing hockey; she also loved telling stores about her Hockey team, and how they used to play against each other. Back in 1966 Barbara met the love of her life Joseph Allen Sutherland, on January 25th, 1967 they got married.

Together they had 6 children Norma (Raymond), Rose, Allen Jr., Sandra, Ruby (Franklin), Randy, and Eran (Kevin); Barbara also had numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Sadly, Barbara also leaves behind her husband of many years. She will be greatly and dearly missed, our beautiful mother, grandmother and sister. She was always busy helping others even if she didn’t have much she was always caring. She’d always open her door, especially when you didn’t have a place to stay that’s just how mom was or to eat, she always was making her famous bannock, bread, and soup. She especially had to hang the clothes outdoors on her clothes-line. That’s how she liked to spend her days that was “our mom”. She liked to sit around with everyone. She enjoyed her coffee, visiting around. She also loved to go for drives and ride around with her friends.

Well good-bye mom, we really love you. Can’t believe you just left us too soon.

Wake service was held on Friday, May 25th, 2018 beginning at 4:00 PM from the Camperville Community Hall, Camperville, Manitoba.

Funeral service was held on Saturday, May 26th, 2018 at 11:00 AM from the Camperville Community Hall, with Pastor Brian Zong officiating.

Active pallbearers were Chris Sutherland, Vernon Sutherland, Stephan Genaille, Jayden Sutherland, Kevin McKay and Chris McKay.

Honorary pallbearers were Randy Sutherland, Jr. Sutherland, Jeremiah Genaille, Thomas Sutherland, Jordan Sutherland, Wanda Sutherland, Marie Guiboche, Todd Kematch, Thomasina Sutherland, George Sutherland, Joe Jr. McKay, Kaitlyn Sutherland and Jessica Sutherland.

Following the service, Barbara was laid to rest in the Metis Cemetery, Camperville, Manitoba.
