At the age of 93, Shirley a resident of Swan Valley Lodge passed away with sons by her side. Shirley was born on September 26th, 1929 in Swan River living all her life in Kenville, except those years of training to become a nurse in Winnipeg, coming back to Swan River to nurse until retirement.
Shirley is survived by her husband Dave Theunissen and his sons Bill and Murray, sister ,Marg and husband Richard Gogol, her sons Greg, Brian and wife Viola, nieces Joanne and Cathy, many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Shirley lived life to the fullest, enjoying all the trips to the West to visit family and friends and with Dave on cruises to Alaska and along the coast of Mexico. She was an ardent curler and golfer, especially enjoying the camaraderie after the games. Shirl was a dedicated nurse especially with her duties in the operating room. Shirl had a love for animals especially her dogs Suzi, Mali & Buddie. She will be missed by many.

In keeping with Shirley’s wishes, a private family graveside memorial service will be held at a later date at the Birchwood Cemetery.
Cremation has taken place at Heritage Memorial Gardens, Swan River, Manitoba.
