Sherry Ann Harapiak (nee Ames) of Cowan, Manitoba passed away on September 24th, 2020 at the age of 41 years. Sherry was born in Swan River on May 2, 1979 to Don and Colleen Ames. She attended K-9 in Minitonas and graduated from the SVRSS in 1997 with a focus on Food Services. She then spent a summer at her Moms family's cabin working as a server near Watrous, Saskatchewan.
Sherry lived with her parents in the R.M. of Minitonas until 2001 when she moved with her daughter Aurora to Stettler, Alberta. She then moved to Red Deer where Brody was born. She participated in the Enbridge Ride to Conquer Cancer, received her Educational Assistant Certificate from Red Deer Community College and worked with special needs children.
She moved back to Manitoba working various jobs where she met Jason. On August 15, 2019 Sherry chose to give the gift of life and donated one of her kidneys, saving the man she loved. They were a perfect match for the transplant and also in life. Sherry worked by Jason`s side, no matter the task, as they built their future together and had plans to be married.
Sherry always loved cooking, baking, camping, fishing and hunting but she had a new found passion for gardening and farming. She will be remembered by her beautiful smile, her kind heart and her giving spirit.
She is survived by her partner Jason Kereluk, children Aurora and Brody Harapiak (and their father Marty), parents Don and Colleen Ames, and her sisters Tracy Munro (Doug and family) and Becky Ames (Len Day and family).
Pallbearers are Larry Slepika, Parker Spence, Ryan Eisner, Derek Bartel, Larry McKay, and Kass Atkinson.
Sherry will be laid to rest at the Cowan Cemetery, Cowan, Manitoba. At this time, with provincial restrictions on public group sizes, we ask that relatives and friends contact the family for specific times and locations.
