Nikita was named by the late Reynold Quill, and she was born with a heart defect. She had heart surgery in Toronto, when she was very small.
Nikita was born in Swan River to Marcel Cook and Juliette Beardy. She had 3 sisters Emily Beardy, Jenna Beardy and Elizabeth Cook, as well as one brother Marcel Beardy.
The birth of her children—Kemily, then Bridgette and Liam brought great joy and shattered her heart when her relationships changed and had to go her separate way. She was a great auntie to Connor, Brayson, Lawcity and Kingsley.
Nikita supported public events with her aunties in Sapotaweyak and will be remembered for her special laugh and wit. Her sisters remember her as helpful and having a funny sense of humor. She was the brave sister. Her dad remembers her as a bingo player.
Nikita will be greatly missed by her aunties and cousins in East LA.
Nikita got very sick and ended up at the Brandon Hospital and then to St. Boniface, where she passed away after having another heart surgery,
Nikita was predeceased by her late mom Juliette, whom she missed very much; aunties Rita young, Elaine Beardy, Barbara Sutherland, and Beatrice Beardy; uncles William and Francis Beardy; aunties Violet Pickle and her choom and kokoom Nora and Gordon Cook.
