We sadly announce the sudden passing of Lillian Mary Genaille on November 23rd, 2022 at the Saint Boniface Hospital in Winnipeg Manitoba at the age of 85.
Lillian was born March 8th,1937 to Peter Genaille and Margret Jane Leclaire on the shore of Swan Lake Manitoba. As a young girl Lillian worked hard alongside her father where she peeled and piled pulp logs into boxcars.
At the age of 16, Lillian met her husband Tony Genaille in National Mills. They then started their family and moved to Swan River in 1967. Over the years Lillian worked at the Swan valley hospital, trapped and picked sweet grass alongside her husband Tony until the day he passed.
Up until the day she passed, she spent her evenings playing bingo with her bingo buddies. She loved going to her family's gatherings where she enjoyed listening to her family members sing some of her favorites and watch the grandkids run and play and you can't forget the Bud Lights. Rodeo weekend she would have a full house, where you would hear George Jones on the ghetto blaster till 5 a.m.
Lillian's children knew about her love for flowers, and her house would be filled with flower baskets every mother’s day. Every summer she would have beautiful flower arrangements growing in her flower beds. Come Christmas Poinsettias were her favorite. She would spend Christmas day always making sure to prepare a Christmas lunch with her famous potato and egg salad, ensuring everyone left with a full stomach.
Lillian always had such a big heart and would welcome anyone into her home day or night; always calling to check up on people and never forgetting birthdays.
Lillian loved her family she will be dearly missed and remembered by her children: Evelyn (Adolph), Mervin (Priscella), Russell (Racheal), Frank (Brenda), Larry, Jesse (Violet) and many grandchildren and great grandchildren. Lillian also leaves to mourn her brother David, Phillip (Mary) and sister Agnes and many nieces and nephews as well as many friends.
Lillian is predeceased by her parents Margret, Peter, husband Tony, daughter Patsy, son Dolphus, sister Doreen, Madeline (Wilbur) and brothers Leo and Joe.
May she have eternal peace as she watches over all of us. Lillian will never be forgotten and will remain in our hearts and memories.
