Kathleen Malley Obituary

Kathleen Marion Malley (Lowe)

Kathleen(Kaye) Marion Malley of Birch River Manitoba, passed away at the Swan River  Hospital on March 6, 2021 at the age of 83.

Kaye was born August 14, 1937 in Swan River, Manitoba to Robert and Mable Lowe of Lenswood Manitoba. She was the third child and eldest daughter of eight children. Kaye grew up on the family farm in Lenswood and attended Lenswood school.

Sadly in March of 1957, her mother passed suddenly as well as losing two brothers tragically later that summer. Kaye stayed home and helped her dad with the farm and looking after  her younger siblings.

Kaye married George Malley of Birch River on April 3rd 1959. They started a grain and cattle farm and raised five sons there. On the farm Kaye was an extremely hard worker milking cows, tending to animals and raising her boys. The farm left little time for hobbies but she loved curling when she could. Kaye loved cooking and baking for everyone. Taking care of plants and gardening was something she enjoyed and was a natural at. Spending time with family and visiting with friends was also something she loved.

Kaye is survived by her sons Milton of Birch River, Robert (Chris) of Sifton Manitoba, Ken of Minitonas, Lyle of Birch River and Sheldon (Michelle) of Birch River. Sister Dianne (Jim) Suski of Mabel Lake, B.C. Sister In-Laws Agnes, Myrna and Evelyn. Brother In-Law Emile. 10 Grandchildren and 13 Great Grandchildren, along with many nieces and nephews.

Kaye is predeceased by her loving husband George, parents Robert and Mable, brothers Bob , Melvin, Kenneth, Stanley, Edwin and sister Marilyn. Brother In-Laws Sam and Evert(Bud). Sister In-Laws Isabelle, Louise and Iris.

Pallbearers were Andy Malley, Michael Malley, Rikki Pedersen, Pete Paterson, Stanley Johnson and Jean Forest.

During a private service, Kaye was laid to rest in the Crandell Cemetery, Birch River, Manitoba.
