Alex Sholudko Obituary

It is with great sadness that we have to announce the passing of Alex Sholudko suddenly on Sunday, July 19th, 2020.

Alex was born on July 23rd, 1934 in Hyas, Saskatchewan. He was the youngest child and only son of Nick and Annie Sholudko. After many moves in his younger years, the family finally settled in Durban, Manitoba. During those year Alex received his education in  Victoria B.C. and Durban.

After working on the farm, Alex decided to go and work for Manitoba Pool in 1960. By 1961 he was the elevator agent for the Pool in Durban. The year 1961 was a big year for Alex, besides the new job placement, he married the love of his life Anne Forsachuk of Bowsman.

Alex had many interests in life from curling, hunting, fishing, and camping, he was a true outdoorsman, however his pride and joy was his cars. He would make sure they were always in tip top shape and ready to go.

By 1975, Alex’s diligence and working hard, paid off when he was promoted to the Pool head Office in Winnipeg, so with Anne together they made the big more to the city. With the promotion ment Alex would be travelling the world, even selling to Germany, where he was the first seller there since the War. After Alex retired, at the age of 60, him and Anne would travel with bus tours, going on a yearly Northern trip from Rocky to Baker’s Narrow. He loved his fishing excursions, almost always catching the largest fish.

Five years ago, Alex and Anne decided to return to their roots in the Swan River Valley. Not long after that Alex took ill and had to be placed in a care home. Anne would visit him everyday until Covid prevented that, but there was still the phone to keep in touch.

Alex leaves to cherish; his wife Anne; sister Alice Pacamanuik of Swan River; sister and brother-in-law Irene and Wayne Banting of Swan River; brother-in-law Sam Forsachuk of Bowman; Sister and brother-in-law Ollie and Dave Viflanzoff of The Pas; as well numerous nieces and nephews; and even great-nieces and nephews.

Alex was predeceased by; his parents Nick and Annie Sholudko; sister Gladys Stupak and her husband John; brother-in-law Walter Pacamaniuk; nephew John Pacamanuik and by his mother and father-in-law Mary and John Forsachuk.

In keeping with Alex’s wishes,

Cremation has taken place and
