Minnie Borley

With gratitude for her life and sadness at her passing, the family announces that Minnie Doreen Borley (nee McIntyre) passed away on November 19th, 2019 at the age of 95 years. Minnie was born on August 3rd, 1924 to Sarah and Guy McIntyre in the rural municipality of Minitonas, Manitoba.

She received her education in Alenvale and Oakhurst and left school early to help on the farms that needed help with house and outdoor work.

Later on in her years she met Bill Clapham and they were married on November 17th, 1942. Together they raised a family of three daughters, Shirley, Linda & Maxine and one son, Garry.

Minnie found love a second time and married her husband Garrett Borley who sadly passed away in 2015.

Minnie was predeceased by: her husband Bill Clapham in 1981; her parents, Sarah and Guy McIntyre; daughter Linda McIntosh; sisters Bernice Terry, Edna Cocks, Theresa Leslie, Viola Nash; brother Lorne McIntyre; infant brother Guy; son-in-law Ross Gingera; brothers-in-law Jack Terry, Gil Cocks, Doug Leslie and Ed Nash; niece, Darla Leslie; and her second husband Garrett Borley.

She leaves to mourn: her three children, Shirley, Garry (Birdie) and Maxine (Harvey); step-children John (Frances), Sherry (Ken), Debbie (John) and Garry Joe (Lori); sister-in-law Peggy McIntyre; 18 grandchildren; 29 great grand children and 3 great great grandchildren.

In keeping with Minnie’s wishes, cremation has taken place and a celebration of life service will be held for her in the summer of 2020.
