Eileen Elsie Piwish of Swan River, Manitoba, passed away suddenly on February 18th, 2018 at the age of 78 years.
Eileen was born on May 21st, 1939 in Hudson Bay, Saskatchewan to Andrew and Elsie Currie. She received her education in Bertwell, Saskatchewan.
Eileen moved to Swan River in 1956 and meet Harry Henry Piwish. Together they were married in Kenville, Manitoba in 1958, sadly Harry passed away on October 2nd, 2000.
Eileen worked at Baynes Café, Dicks Café, then she went to work at the Community Hotel in 1966 for a few years. After she went to work for Paulls Hardware, when the new owners took over, she worked for Jack and Judy Steer, when that business was sold Eileen moved to Kelsey’s Grocery and Video’s where she worked with Jack and Judy for 12 years. When the store changed owners to Micheline Carstairs she worked there for 7 more years.
Eileen enjoyed her small garden and flowers, fishing and going to the lake. During her life, she was a member of the Royal Purple as an associated member with the Royal Canadian Legion.
Eileen is survived by her two sons Michael (Lorena) and Tim (Suzette); daughter Carla (Lawrence) Trumbley; her five sisters Donna (Harvey), Marion (Mike), Lois, Edith (Wayne) and Lynn (Roland); her two brothers Bob (Jane) and Jack (Brenda); five grandchildren Kayla (Justin), Shawn (Amanda), Derrick (Lynnea), William and Rae-lene; two great-grand daughters Alexis and Brinnley; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
She was predeceased by her parents Andrew and Elsie Currie; grand parents Carl and Ellie Sundberg and John and Harriett Currie; her beloved husband Harry Piwish; her brother Glenn and her brother-in-law Peter.
As per Eileen’s wishes cremation
has taken place and a private family
funeral service will be held.
Cremation has taken place at
Heritage Memorial Gardens,
Swan River, Manitoba.
