Roderick Keith Holness

Rodrick Keith Holness, of the RM of Livingston, passed away in Swan River, Manitoba on January 28th, 2016 at the age of 71 years.

Rod was born in Swan River on July 30th, 1944 to Sam and Flora Holness. He received his education at the Border Road School and at the Swan River High School.

Rod married Anna Elaine Lumley of Vancouver, BC on July 6th, 1973.

Rod left home in the early 60’s and worked at numerous jobs. He had many adventures in Ontario, Manitoba, B.C., and over seas in the United Kingdom and the Mediterranean. He returned home to be part of the family farm in 1973, where he farmed, worked as a logger operator at a sawmill and raised his family for many happy years. His hobbies involved steam engines and going fishing.

Rod is survived by Anna who remained his friend always; son Roland Holness; daughter Kathleen Pike; brothers Kim and Barry Holness; sister Miriam Harris; and by five grandchildren Luke, Jake, Ava, Parker and Isabelle.

Rod was predeceased by his parents.

A memorial service was held on Monday, February 1st, 2016 at 3:00 PM from the Swan River Seventh-day Adventist Church with Pastor Roy Jamieson officiating.

Interment will follow at a later date.

Should friends so desire, memorial donations in Rod’s honor may be made to the Swan River Seventh Day Adventist Church.

Cremation has taken place at Heritage Memorial Gardens, Swan River, Manitoba.
