In Loving Memory

Marian nee (Holland) Spitzke passed away in the Swan Valley Personal Care Home on February 4th, 2016 at the age of 89 years. Marian was born in Rosyerscre, Wolyn, Poland on July 7th, 1926 to Adam and Lydia Holland. Marian’s family moved to Manitoba a few years later. She started her education in Alberta and then completed her education at the Minitonas and Flordale Schools.

Marian married Leo Spitzke on June 28th, 1945 in Minitonas. They were married for 65 years. During this time, she was a housewife and homemaker.

Marian numerous interests included quilting, knitting, crocheting, other crafts, reading and, she was involved with the Minitonas Baptist Church Ladies Group.

She is survived by her daughter Diane; sons Don (Joyce), Larry (Pam) and Marvin (Lorna); 8 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren; sisters Agnes, Martha (Alfred), and Gladys (Ernie); brother Marvin (Grace) and by numerous nieces and nephews.

Marian is predeceased by her husband Leo; daughter Margaret Foy; parents Adam and Lydia and by her sister Erika.

Thank you to the Swan Valley Personal Care Home for the care that they gave to our mother.

In keeping with Marian’s wishes cremation has taken place and a service is planed for later in the Spring of 2016.

Should friends so desire, memorial donations in Marian’s honor may be made to the Alzheimer’s Society of Manitoba, Minitonas Baptist Church or to the Wellman Lake Bible Camp.

Cremation has taken place at Heritage Memorial Gardens, Swan River, Manitoba.
