Lillian May Woolford of Swan River passed away in the Swan Valley Health Facilities on August 9th, 2015 at the age of 85 years, plus 10 days.

Lillian was born in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan on July 29th, 1930 to Isaiah and Louisa Pearl Beresford. When Lillian was a little girl, the family moved to the Outpost School District where she attended school to Grade 8. Because of the hard times after World War 2, Lillian quit school and worked as a Domestic on various farms in the Crestview and Big Woody Districts to help support the family.

Lillian married Elgin Woolford on December 24th, 1949. Together they raised five children and although after many years together, they divorced, but remained good friends until he passed away in 2008.

Lillian lived the past 30 years till the time of her passing with her long-time partner, Ron Lee. After her oldest children were of school age, she worked at the Swan Valley Lodge for several years.

In her earlier years, Lillian loved playing cards, such as Rummy and Whist. In her later years, her grandchildren and great-grandchildren occupied her time.

Lillian is survived by her children Keith (Kathy), Sheila (Andy), Larry (Annette); Lillian was blessed with 9 grandchildren: Greg, Rene, Denise, Renee, Krista, Annette, Chad, Chantale and Stacey. She was also blessed with 9 great grandchildren: Andrea, Cody, Kevin, Mike, Jadyn, Breanna, Emilie, Cameron, and Johnathan.

Lillian was predeceased by her two sons; Ranny in 1976 and Orville in 1980; infant sister Dorris; brother Gordon Beresford and wife Mildren; sister Margaret “Peggy” Innes and husband Bill; sister Jean Foster and her husband Gloyd, and by her parents Isaiah and Louisa.
