Gloria Mary Mc kay was born on August 18, 1968. She is the eldest of fraternal twins born 20 minutes apart.  Gloria resided on Pine Creek First Nation for the majority of her life.  While she resided at home she met Norman (Dukes) Richard and together they had 3 children – Dallas, Cote and Angell.  Together they raised their children with love, compassion and memorable family celebrations.  As their children grew – Dukes and Gloria parted to move on with their own dreams but continued to support and love children.

She graduated at Winnipegosis Collegiate 1998. She went to further her education completing the Early Childhood Education Certificate Level II at Assiniboine Community College – Parkland Campus in 2003.  She was employed at Pine Creek Daycare and continued with her studies enabling her to complete her Level III in childcare. Gloria’s love for the children she worked with was evident in her planning and ideas to make everyday a fun day with crafts and games. She did not hesitate to work with her co-workers on the floor, planning, fundraising or kitchen help as they participated in parties, learning activities and field trips.  It was with sadness and regret that she had to leave her career due to a     motor vehicle injury.  Gloria continued to create fun-filled days with her family and friends.

In 2007 Gloria met her partner Andy Marion whom she loved and cared for until her passing. Together they enjoyed laughing, joking with others, caring for her mother in-law Ellen and her late father in-law Raymond Marion. They were active in all their children’s lives and   always wanted the best for everyone.  “JJ” and “Jayde” were Grandma Gloria’s heart – she loved them unconditionally to the moon and back.  JJ shared many conversations with Grandma and was always excited when she came to visit.  Jayde also touched Grandma’s heart and together they were building a bond like no other.  Gloria was proud of her daughter Angell for the terrific mother and partner she had become.  She never worried about Angell and her family because of the love she had for family.  Her help and support for the family was because she just wanted to do it.  Mom was excited for the arrival of her new grandson Jaivery in May 2016.

Her excitement for her daughter and family was contagious and she looked forward to seeing her grandchildren bond and grow up together.  Gloria also loved and cared for her step-children and step-grandkids.  Her and Andy were proud grandparents and shared many moments talking about them with love and laughter.  Grandma will truly be missed.

Gloria also loved her sons Cote (Cheryl Dawn) and Dallas (Marie).  She was proud of their efforts in their lives and their many successes.  She supported them in their decisions and shared her love and compassion with any situation that happened in the family.  She called her sons Cote and Dallas and daughter Angell everyday, making sure things were good or just to let them know she loved them.

Gloria leaves to mourn: her partner Andy Marion; son Dallas (Marie); Cote (Cheryl Dawn); Angell (Nicholas); grandson JJ; grand-daughter Jayde; step-daughters Rene’(Scott) and Eve; step-grandkids Raelynn & Malika; as well as her special nephew “Matthew”; Brothers Gordie, George, Clifford (Valerie), Fred (Lucille), Ivan and William;  Sisters Doreen, Gina (James), Joanne, Maggs, Tina, and her twin sister Mary (Larrie);  In-laws Ronnie (Melanie), Paul (Rychelle), Terry (Rosella), Melvania (Russell) as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Gloria was predeceased by her parents George and Maggie McKay, brother Charles, common in law partner Norman “Dukes” Richard, one infant grandchild, father in-law   Raymond Marion and many extended family members to numerous to mention.
