Ejnar Larsen Immerkar of Swan River, MB passed away with his wife, Evelyn by his side on June 9th, 2015 at the Swan Valley Health Centre.

Ejnar was born on December 9th, 1947 in Swan River to Emmy and Christian Immerkar.

Ejnar was the youngest of five children.

He attended school at Egremont School, North of Swan River. He went to high school at the Swan River Collegiate and later attended Assiniboine Community College, in

Brandon Manitoba to become a certified welder.

Ejnar left the Valley after his schooling to work in Winnipeg and later in Northern Alberta to weld on the oil rigs. He returned in 1971 to farm with his dad.

In June of 1975, Ejnar married Evelyn Morris of Renwer, MB.

They laid their roots and set up a home on the original Immerkar homestead in the R.M. of Swan River.

Ejnar and Evelyn worked together on their mixed farm where they worked hard to

establish a diverse operation. In July of 1978 they welcomed their first child, Ryan Scott. In October of 1980 their second child Erin Christie was born. Warren Morris completed the Immerkar family in February of 1984.

As a young man Ejnar was an air cadet and also a Big Brother with the Big Brothers and Sisters of Canada where he developed a strong bond with his little brothers. Around this time he also became a member of the Swan Valley Agricultural Society where he served as a director and later as president. He remained a respected member until his passing.

As the kids were growing up Ejnar continued to farm and specialized in hogs and was named as one of Manitoba’s top 20 Hog producers.

In January of 1995, he started working nights on the green chain at Spruce Products Ltd. He loved working at SPL especially as loader operator. He made many great friends through his job and would still be happily driving his loader today if he had not fallen ill.

The summer of 1995 Ejnar and some friends took on the task of building the home they live in now.

Ejnar was a family man and cared for his community. Not only was he a great role model for his kids but for those around him. As the kids were growing up he was a 4-H Leader, was part of CASARA (air search and rescue), livestock shipping association, Folkfest, Danish Club and later a very proud member of the Bowsman Lion’s Club.

His hobbies and interests included carpentry, gardening and yard work, fishing, puttering and inventing things, cooking, barbecuing, cooking pancakes around the valley, watching old western movies and especially visiting with friends.

Ejnar was very proud of his 5 grandchildren; Myley, Larsen, Macklan, Isabella and Emry. Nothing broke his heart more than to see his grandson battle cancer and then later pass of his illness. He would have traded places with him in a heartbeat.

Ejnar and Evelyn had many fun adventures together and stuck by each other’s side through the many hard times, a testament to their strength.

Ejnar leaves to mourn his passing his loving wife of 40 years, Evelyn; Son, Ryan, (Kristin) and their children Isabella and Emry; Daughter, Erin Brunel (Rob) and children Myley, Larsen and Macklan and youngest son Warren; his sisters Martha Olafson, Mary Muir and Karen Gordon and sister in law Colleen; as well as many nieces, nephews,  great-nieces and nephews and great-great nieces and nephews.

His was pre-deceased by his parents Emmy and Christian Immerkar; his sister Greta; brother Hans; brothers-in-law Karl Olafson, Frank Gordon, John Muir and Grandson, Larsen Brunel.

A celebration of Ejnar’s life was held at the Legion Hall on Sunday, June 14, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. with

The Venerable Tom Stradwick officiating.

Ejnar was laid to rest at a private graveside service with his family acting as pallbearers.

Cremation has taken place at Heritage memorial Gardens.
