Earnest Wilfred Vivian
May 3, 1942 ~ November 27, 2016 (age 74) 74 Years OldIt is with great sadness and much gratitude for the life of Ernest Wilfred Vivan that the family announces his sudden passing on November 27th, 2016 at the age of 74 years, doing what he loved which was looking after his farm.
Ernie was born in Morden, Manitoba to Wilfred and Freda Vivian. He received his education at Foxwarren, Manitoba.
For the majority of Ernie’s life he worked as a journeyman lineman although he had a wealth of other skills such as driving truck, school bus and combine. In addition to those Ernie dabbled in carpentry, welding and bison farming.
More than any of the work skills that made up the always ‘on the go’ man that Ernie was, he was a family man. His commitment to his wife Marcelle of 21 years and the children that they blended into their family was ever present and deeply cherished.
Ernie’s sense of humour and ability to make every person that met him feel comfortable or friended will be missed.
Left to cherish Ernie’s memory are: his wife Marcelle; five sons, Dale, Ray, Gary, Ron and Wayne; three step-daughters Denise, Doris and Adele and step son Mike as well as many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Ernie was predeceased by his parents Wilfred and Freda Vivian and his sister Gail.
A Celebration of Life Gathering was held on Monday, December 5th, 2016 at 11:00 AM from the Rose Room of Heritage Memorial Gardens, 214 Airport Road, Swan River, Manitoba. Celebrant Darlyn Hunt officiated.
Cremation has taken place at Heritage Memorial Gardens. Ernie will be laid to rest at a later date in the family plot of the Round Plain Stone Church Cemetery, Wishart District, Saskatchewan.
