Alexander "Sandy" Kenneth McKay
November 19, 1926 ~ April 10, 2015 (age 88) 88 Years OldAlexander Kenneth (Sandy) McKay passed away at the Swan River Valley Health Centre on April 10th, 2015 at the age of 88 years. Sandy was born in Reston, Manitoba on November 19th, 1926 to William and Agnes McKay. He received his education in the Davidson School.
Sandy lived in the Reston area until he was 8 years of age. The family then moved to the Swan River Valley where he spent the rest of his life. Sandy always spent his summers on the farm. In the winter he pursued numerous jobs. Sandy later started a Dairy business and eventually took over the family farm.
On February 3rd, 1968 he married Marg Fullerton (Clark). Together they expanded the dairy business and farmed until retiring to Swan River.
Sandy’s greatest joy in life was playing the fiddle. He spent many years playing at dances and the legion club room. He also enjoyed many years of camping, dancing and playing cards with many friends.
Sandy is survived by three step-sons; Rick of Winnipeg, MB, Ken (Vi) of Saskatoon, SK, Ernie (Susan) of Cranberry Portage, MB; as well as seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
He was predeceased by his parents William and Agnes, and by his wife Marg.
