Adam Yaknovich, of the Alpine District, passed away at his home on July 14th, 2015 at the age of 89 years.

Adam was born in Bialoweisza, Poland on February 14th, 1926. He received his education in Poland. From 1942-1947 Adam had been taken from his home, in Poland, and placed in a labour camp in Germany. In 1947 he immigrated to Canada, where he started working for a logging camp in Ontario for a short period of time. He then moved to Winnipeg, Manitoba in that same year, stayed for a bit and then decided to settle in Alpine, Manitoba.

On July 18th, 1948 in Benito, Manitoba he married Mina Blosha of Alpine.

Adam farmed his whole life; the farm was a mixed operation of cattle and grains, which also included pigs and chickens. Other than the farm his interests consisted of carpentry.

Adam leaves to mourn: his wife Mina; children Ed and Sandy Yaknovich of Benito, Sonya and Joe Devriendt of Winnipeg and Debbie and Buddy LeClaire; grandchildren Doug Devriendt (Hazel), Lyndon Yaknovich (Ashly), Jonathan Yaknovich (Stephanie Sutherland), Nicholas and Cody LeClaire.

Adam was predeceased by: his mother and father; a brother; two sisters and by his youngest son Jim.
